Our Story
I'll never forget standing in a beautiful city, surrounded by incredible architecture and vibrant culture, but unable to fully enjoy it.
Is this neighborhood safe for me as a Black person?
Can I hold hands with my partner here?
Will the hotel staff respect my pronouns?
Am I going to be the only one who looks like me?
I was exhausted before my vacation even started.
And I knew I wasn't alone.
That's why I created Onyx Compass Travel Group.
Not just another travel company, but a community where Black LGBTQ+ professionals can explore the world authentically—without the mental gymnastics, without the code-switching, and without compromise.

What We Do
Onyx Compass Travel Group is a membership-based travel community that curates intentional group experiences for Black LGBTQ+ professionals.
We plan 1-2 international trips annually to carefully vetted destinations that celebrate both our Blackness and queerness. Every location is chosen for safety, cultural richness, and the freedom to be fully ourselves.
